Video: Pet Insulin Injection
Diabetes occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin. Diabetes in pets is similar to that of humans. It is most common in older pets, but can also be found in younger or pregnant pets. Like humans, it can be controlled via excercise, diet and treatment by a veterinarian.
Below, our veterinary technicians provide a tutorial on how to provide your pet with insulin shots. The video also discusses how to administer either Glargine or Vetsulin. Each has its own unique way to prepare the insulin and draw into the syringe.
If your pet has diabetes, please be sure to seek medical advice from a veterinarian. Contact us to schedule an appointment today.
